Interest Inquiry

Admissions Process:

Greater priority is given to families who complete the admissions process before December 31st of the current school year. Doing so will maximize your ability to secure a seat, obtain necessary aid and receive possible merit awards.

  • The first step in our admissions process is to fill out a brief interest form. Then, a member of our team will reach out to you to discuss any questions you have and help you with the next steps.

    We also host a variety of events for parents and families including information sessions, social events, and more. Visit our events page for more details.

  • Once you're ready to apply, you'll use our online admissions portal to submit your documentation. This will include:

    • Your application and a $50 non-refundable application fee, which will increase to $75 starting January 1

    • Official 6-8 grade transcripts*

    *If your student is a transferring high school student, we will also request official transcripts from high school.

  • Every student has unique academic and behavioral needs. It is important for us to ensure we can meet those needs before admitting a student. Therefore, we employ a math and reading readiness assessment and require a written essay.

    We will be scheduling assessments starting in November.

  • Once the majority of the admissions process is complete, we'll schedule a meeting with you, your student, and our headmaster to ensure we're the right fit for your family.

The Cost of a Chesterton Education

Chesterton Academy of Winston-Salem is committed to offering an outstanding high school education at an affordable cost to families. Because tuition does not cover the full cost of an education at Chesterton, families are expected to aid in fundraising efforts throughout the school year.

  • We believe every family, regardless of their financial situation, should have the choice to send their children to a school rooted in the Catholic tradition that prepares them intellectually, morally, and spiritually for this life and the next.

    Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we are able to offer a tuition rate significantly lower than the actual cost to educate each student.

    Therefore, our tuition rate for the 2027 - 2028 school year is $9,800.

    We are working hard to make education as affordable as possible, therefore all applicants for the 2027-2028 school year will be considered “Pioneer Students”. These applicants will be given a locked-in tuition rate of $9,800 for the entirety of their enrollment. In order to receive the “Pioneer Rate”, families must enroll before March 31, 2027.

    This tuition rate is one of the lowest among the Catholic schools in North Carolina and about one-half of private alternatives in Winston-Salem.

  • A financial aid application will be made available after the application process is complete. We require that all families apply for the NC Opportunity Scholarship program before asking for additional tuition assistance.

    To be qualified for such aid, a family must complete a 3rd party assessment tool to determine appropriate need levels. In addition, a student’s grades, attendance, behavior as well as a parent’s ability to assist with fundraising or volunteer activities, impacts the amount of annual aid offered.
